Eagles Soaring Beyond (ESB) is the Eagle Academy Foundation’s strategic initiative to empower young men of color with the tools and opportunities needed for postsecondary success. ESB equips students with the awareness, exposure, and preparation they require to explore multiple pathways towards enrollment in college, enlistment in service, or employment in fulfilling careers. Through personalized guidance, mentorship, and structured opportunities, ESB aims to dismantle systemic barriers that have hindered the progress of young men of color for too long.
At the heart of ESB is the belief that when we surround young men of color with an ecosystem of support, and fortify them with individualized motivation and resources, they can intentionally build a blueprint for success. This mindset shift transforms students from passive recipients to active producers of their own futures.

The Eagle Institute is EAF’s audacious response to scale the Foundation’s impact for more young men of color. Through its professional learning offerings, EAF trains, consults with, and convenes adults nationwide to strengthen their capacity and practice by learning from Eagle’s experiences for effectively engaging young men of color. We believe that the success of the Eagle approach is adaptable and scalable in communities across the country. EAF works to fill this knowledge gap in a cost-efficient and effective manner.
Young men empowered through Eagle Institute programming
Educators trained to inspire the next generation of leaders
School districts nationwide, including New York, Los Angeles, Buffalo, and Chicago, served by our innovative programs
At the Eagle Academy Foundation, we provide a range of services designed to empower educators, school leaders, and communities. Our professional learning and technical support offerings are tailored to meet the needs of those working to improve educational outcomes for young men of color. From Black Studies curriculum training to comprehensive school improvement services, we are dedicated to ensuring that educators have the tools, knowledge, and support they need to make a lasting impact.
With the current calls for equity and anti-racism, educators are increasingly tasked with teaching new curricula that elevate hidden voices historically excluded from our history books and classrooms. To teach Black Studies and these newly introduced voices effectively, school communities need training and professional development opportunities to help educators navigate the emotions and trauma involved in these subjects. The goals of the Eagle Academy Foundation’s Mindset Readiness Training are to develop the capacity of participants to:
• Engage in productive conversations about race
• Deepen understanding of racial experiences and perspectives to examine how they inform an educator’s lens
• Explore the distinction between biased beliefs and culturally responsive beliefs
The Eagle Academy Foundation offers technical expertise across a broad range of educational topics through the Eagle Institute. This includes mindset readiness, post-secondary success, climate and culture, infrastructure systems, youth-adult partnerships, school design, and strategic planning.
EAF is supported by a team of highly accomplished educational leaders and experts in Black and Latino male achievement, school leadership, partnership development, and change management. Since 2016, the Eagle Institute’s annual professional development conferences have trained over 2,000 U.S. educators and school leaders. Given the ongoing crisis affecting young men of color, EAF remains ready to support educators and systems leaders nationwide to implement strategies that improve life outcomes for these young men.
